New Battery Support for NSW Businesses

From 1 September 2026, eligible NSW businesses can access a government incentive towards installing battery storage. The incentive is designed to help businesses reduce energy costs, store excess solar generation and improve energy resilience. The discount can be higher when a new battery is installed together with new or additional solar capacity. Larger commercial battery systems may have different financial arrangements and eligibility requirements

Key Features :

NSW Battery Incentive – Eligible businesses can receive an upfront discount on the installation of a new commercial battery from 1 September 2026.
20–40% Indicative Discount – The indicative discount is around 20–30% for battery-only installations and 30–40% when new or additional solar is installed with the battery.
Large Battery Capacity – Eligible business batteries can range from 20 kWh up to 30 MWh, subject to program requirements.
Solar + Battery Benefit – Businesses can receive a larger discount when new or additional solar capacity is installed within the required timeframe.
Reduced Energy Costs – Store solar energy and use it when required to reduce electricity purchased from the grid.
Backup Power – Battery systems with backup capability can help keep essential business operations running during power outages.
